Kavach Core, our first device · shipping November 2026

Help is one squeeze away.

A small device that lives on your keys. Squeeze the buttons on both edges and three things happen at once: a 130 dB siren and strobe, an SOS with your live location to the people you trust, and 112 one tap away. No screen, no menus, and it works even if your contacts never install our app.

  • 130 dB siren and strobe
  • Live location to your circle
  • Reaches contacts by SMS and call
  • ₹4,500, made in India

Why Kavach exists

The phone in your bag asks too much of you.

Most of us already take precautions: the longer route, the shared cab, the call that lasts until the front door. Kavach is for the moment those are not enough, and it removes every step but one.

51every hour

Registered across India

In 2023, the NCRB recorded 4.48 lakh crimes against women, around 51 an hour. Most happen close to home, on ordinary days, to people who thought it would not be them.

4 in 10women

Feel unsafe in their own city

Safety perception drops sharply after dark, on the street and on public transport. In one Hyderabad survey, three in four women said they felt unsafe moving around after 4 pm.

10 sto ask for help by phone

Unlock, open, find, type, send

In a fall, a panic or the dark, it may not be possible at all. Kavach is one squeeze you can manage inside a pocket, with cold or unsteady hands, without looking.

“You can’t change the streets overnight. You can change what’s in your hand when something goes wrong.”

How it works

From one squeeze
to someone who cares.

  1. 01

    Squeeze both edges

A button on each edge, pressed together and held. You can do it inside a pocket without looking, and two buttons with a hold means it will not go off on its own in a bag.

  2. 02

    It gets loud

A 130 dB siren and a strobe light start at once. Loud enough to be heard across a street, bright enough to be seen down one, and they keep going until you stop them.

  3. 03

Your circle knows where you are

Everyone on your list gets your name, the time and a live location link by app and SMS. 112 is one tap away on the same screen.

  4. 04

    Someone takes it

One tap on “I’ve got it” stops the escalation and tells everyone else who is responding. One tap on “I’m safe” from you closes the loop.

Who it’s for

Made for the people who go out,
and the people who wait up.

One device, one app, and a mode for the way your day actually goes. Each mode changes who is told, how fast it escalates, and what gets logged.

The daily commute

Bus, metro, auto, the last stretch on foot. Commute mode keeps your primary contact on your route and fires the full cascade the moment you squeeze.

The walk home

Night Walk mode shares your live location with one trusted person until you arrive, and sends a safe-arrival note the moment you do.

The people who wait up for you

They don’t need the app. Your primary contact gets an SMS on every plan, and with Call & SMS every contact gets a call that keeps escalating until someone answers.

The device

Small enough to forget. Loud enough to matter.

Kavach is built around the two things a safety device must do: be with you, and be impossible to ignore when you ask it to be.

130 dB sirenEnclosure-tuned piezo, ported so a pocket does not muffle it.
Strobe lightHigh-intensity LED that marks where you are, from a distance.
<90 g
Lighter than your keysPocket-size, with a ring for keys or a bag.
IP54 splash resistantSweat, monsoon spray and a dropped bag. Conformal-coated board.
Two-button squeezeOne on each edge, held together. No pin to pull, no accidental triggers.
USB-C rechargeableCharges from any phone charger. Battery level in the app.
Bluetooth LE, motion sensingAndroid first, iOS next. A 6-axis sensor is ready for fall detection.
Updates over the airSigned firmware, delivered through the app, so it keeps improving.

In the app

  • Home, the everyday default with your whole circle.
  • Commute, primary contact on your route, full cascade.
  • Rider, tuned for two-wheelers and the helmet pocket.
  • Night Walk, live sharing until you arrive, then a safe-arrival note.
  • Test mode, so you can practise without alarming anyone.
  • Privacy by design, consent, retention limits and deletion built in.
The app

You squeeze. They see this.

One app for you and for the people you trust. On an ordinary day it sits quiet and tells you everyone is fine. The moment you squeeze, it turns into the screen on the left: who has been reached, who has picked up, and exactly where you are.

Two Kavach app screens. The first shows an active SOS from Priya with her live location in Koregaon Park, Pune, and her contacts Arjun, Meera and Neha at different stages of the escalation. The second shows the everyday home screen with device battery, contacts ready, the current mode and the family map.
Kavach app, Android first with iOS to follow. Screens shown are from the current build and may change before launch.
Escalation you can watchPush, then SMS, then an automated call that moves down your list until somebody answers.
One tap stops itThe first contact to say “I’ve got it” ends the cascade and tells the rest who is responding.
Quiet by defaultNo feed, no badges, no reason to open it. It only asks for your attention when it matters.
The lineup

One platform. Four levels of protection.

The same electronics, app and emergency contacts power everything we make. We’re starting with Kavach Core, and each device after it adds one capability on top of a base that is already proven. Kavach Core, Plus and Pro share one app. Kavach Children is a separate line with its own app, built for parents.

An alert that arrives

Your contacts don’t need our app.

App notifications only work if your contact installed the app and left notifications on. That is a lot to assume of a daughter, a neighbour or an older parent. Kavach can also reach every contact by SMS and an automated voice call, on any phone, with nothing installed on their end.

  • Included with the app: push to app contacts, an SMS to your primary contact, and 112 one tap away.
  • With Call & SMS: SMS to everyone, plus an escalating voice-call cascade.
  • Flat rate, never metered. No per-message charges, no running out of credits mid-emergency.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

What is Kavach?

Kavach is a personal safety device from Kavach Devices Private Limited, an Indian company based in Pune. It is a small rectangular device that clips to your keys or bag, with a squeeze button on each edge and a signal light on its face. Squeezing both buttons sounds a 130 dB siren and strobe and sends an SOS to your emergency contacts with your live location, by app notification, SMS and automated voice call.

Does Kavach call 112 for me?

Kavach does not place calls to 112 on your behalf, and it is not a replacement for emergency services. The app puts 112 one tap away on the alert screen, and where the 112 India app is available it links straight into it. In an emergency, call 112 if you are able to.

Do my emergency contacts need the app?

No. Contacts with the app get instant push notifications and the family map. Your primary contact always gets an SMS, and with the Call & SMS add-on every contact is reached by SMS and an automated voice call, on any phone, with nothing installed.

Does Kavach Core need my phone nearby?

Kavach Core and Kavach Plus pair with your phone over Bluetooth and use it to send the alert. The siren and strobe are on the device itself and work whether or not your phone is in range. Kavach Pro removes the phone entirely, with direct device-to-satellite alerting that needs no paired phone and no SIM.

Why is there a subscription?

Because Kavach is a live service, not just a piece of plastic. The Kavach app subscription, ₹500 a month, pays for alert delivery, location relay, maps, cloud infrastructure and support. The Call & SMS add-on is a separate subscription because voice calls and SMS cost us per message, and not everyone needs them. Keeping them separate keeps the app price low.

How much does Kavach Core cost?

The device is ₹4,500, paid once. The Kavach app is ₹500 a month or ₹5,000 a year. The optional Call & SMS add-on is ₹199 a month or ₹1,999 a year. These are indicative launch prices in Indian rupees.

Is there a limit on how many times I can trigger it?

No. Triggers are unlimited and never metered. In a safety product, any hesitation to squeeze is a design failure, so we will never charge you per alert, per SMS or per call.

What happens to my location data?

Your location is shared with the emergency contacts you choose, when an alert is active or when you turn on live sharing. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising. The app is built to India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, with consent, retention limits and deletion from day one.

When does Kavach Core ship?

The first production run is in progress and the countdown at the top of this page tracks the target shipping date. Waitlist members are allocated first and will be notified with exact dates before anyone else.

Where can I buy it?

Direct from us at launch, with Amazon India and select retailers to follow. Your subscription is redeemed with a one-time activation code tied to your Kavach account, so it works the same wherever you bought the device.

Where is Kavach made?

Kavach Devices Private Limited is an Indian company headquartered in Pune, Maharashtra, and that is where Kavach is designed and engineered. The devices themselves are manufactured in India with Indian partners.
